Xinhua reports that a new season of live theatre screenings including 23 new titles from Britain, Moscow and Broadway, will hit China's big screens starting in July.
"Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead," starring Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Shakespeare's "A Winter's Tale" with Oscar winner Dame Judi Dench, "Richard III" with Oscar nominee Ralph Fiennes, and "The Tempest" are among the new hit plays from Britain.
From Russia, there's the Moscow Art Theatre's production of "The Cherry Orchard." The Tony Award-winning revival production of "She Loves Me" from Broadway will also be shown in Chinese cinemas.
39 venues in 21 cities have screened 23 productions during the past two years, attracting 150,000 viewers to more than 1,000 screenings.
