Based on the Oscar-winning Dreamworks Animation film, Shrek The Musical is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure, featuring music by Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie; Fun Home) and book by David Lindsay-Abaire. In keeping with the Company's core mission of performing arts education, the cast will also include nearly 20 auditioned youth and teen performers in various cameo and ensemble roles.

This is the final production of Windy City Performs' 2017-18 Mainstage season.

ABOUT WINDY CITY PERFORMS: Windy City Performs is a professional theatre and performing arts school. The company provides classes, camps and shows for all-ages in its Jefferson Park studios, and in schools around Chicagoland.

Founded as Youth Company Chicago in 2012, WCP has grown to a bustling program that serves over 1000 students in education programs at its campus and at schools all around Northwest Chicago. WCP students and professional actors perform for thousands and thousands of audience members each year. More than just another theatre company, WCP has become an artistic home where teachers, students, parents and community members learn, create, perform, and inspire each other.

In 2015, the company renovated and opened the new Playhouse @ Jefferson Park, a 68-seat venue that allows us to showcase our students and professionals in a beautiful, intimate blackbox-style theatre.
