Uncharted Brooks to Present LOOSE CHICKS, 9/13

"Loose Chicks" will be at Uncharted Books, 2630 N Milwaukee Ave, in September. Jillian Erickson, one of the original "Loose Chick" will be starring in and presenting an hour long performance based on her experiences through life. Guest Chicks Barrie Cole, Kat Barker, and Michele Weldon will be featured this month. This juicy, gutsy, balsy, cutting edge look at life through the eyes of three femme fatales will be presented at Uncharted Books, 2630 N. Milwaukee. The performance is Friday, September 13th at 7:15pm. There is a suggested donation.

Jillian Erickson is a performance artist, monologist, poet, writer, pain in the ass...She moved to Chicago to do exactly what she is doing and couldn't be giddier. She is the successful co-producer, co-director, and performer for the all female cabaret BEAST WOMEN 2013. Beast Women recently celebrated its 107th performance at The GreenHouse Theater in Chicago. She is also part of the film company, JAkT Films, and a series called "Myths" which is a combination of paint, sculpture, and spoken word.

Barrie Cole is a playwright, writer, and performer. She has read work at Story Sessions, Guts and Glory, That's all She Wrote, Solo in the City and many other places both here in Chicago and around the country. Her newest play, "Clumsy Sublime" runs from Sept 1st through October 12 at the Prop Theatre. She is also completing a book-length project of short pieces entitled, "Fascinating Mistakes."

Kat Barker is a comedic performer, writer and director who currently teaches improvisation at Second City's Training Center. She has also had the distinct privilege of directing both of Second City's Youth and Teen Ensembles this past school year. Kat has performed and directed at Just For Laughs Chicago, Chicago Sketchfest, iO Theater, Annoyance Theater, Comedy Sportz, Gayco, Chicago Improv Festival, Montreal Improv Festival and Second City's Skybox Theater. She has a BA in theater from Occidental College and is a graduate of the Second City Conservatory, iO and Annoyance Theater's improv programs, as well as Second City's writing and directing programs . This past year Kat finished writing comedic pilot: "Mascot" with Colleen Doyle and full length folk musical: "She is Fire" with musician Megan Deiger.

An award-winning journalist for more than 34 years and author of three nonfiction books, Michele Weldon is a prolific and accomplished storyteller across many platforms and genres, with the continuous thread through her work of compelling narrative. As a writer, speaker or instructor, she maintains a consistency of voice and a belief that true, authentic stories are her mission.
