Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre Extends CATS Thru 2/20/2011

Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre is extending its production of "Cats" through February 20, 2011. It was originally scheduled to close January 2, 2011.
All but one of the original cast and band members will remain through the extension. Dan Riley will replace Brian-Alwyn Newland in the roles of Bustopher Jones, Gus and Growltiger after January 2.The performance schedule is slightly reduced from five to four performances each weekend. Performances during the extension will be at 7:30 p.m., Thursdays; 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, and 7 p.m., Sundays. The perennial musical favorite features 13 actors as 20 cats in the intimate 60-seat setting of the No Exit Café, 6970 N. Glenwood in Rogers Park. Composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, "Cats" is based on T.S. Eliot's "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats" and introduced the popular song "Memory."Director and choreographer is Brenda Didier, whose role is graciously funded by The Saints of Chicago, volunteers for the performing arts. Saints volunteers also serve as greeters at all Theo Ubique performances.Performances until January 2 are 7:30 p.m., Thursdays; 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 and 7 p.m., Sundays. Due to the holidays, no performances will be held Friday and Saturday, Dec. 24-25, and the 2 p.m. performances on Sunday, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2. An added performance is 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 22. The Dec. 31 performance is a special New Year's Eve party/show/dinner package. Doors open, dinner is served and the shuttle van starts 90 minutes prior to curtain.
