Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre is extending its production of "Cats" through February 20, 2011. It was originally scheduled to close January 2, 2011.

All but one of the original cast and band members will remain through the extension. Dan Riley will replace Brian-Alwyn Newland in the roles of Bustopher Jones, Gus and Growltiger after January 2.

The performance schedule is slightly reduced from five to four performances each weekend. Performances during the extension will be at 7:30 p.m., Thursdays; 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, and 7 p.m., Sundays.

The perennial musical favorite features 13 actors as 20 cats in the intimate 60-seat setting of the No Exit Café, 6970 N. Glenwood in Rogers Park. Composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, "Cats" is based on T.S. Eliot's "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats" and introduced the popular song "Memory."

Director and choreographer is Brenda Didier, whose role is graciously funded by The Saints of Chicago, volunteers for the performing arts. Saints volunteers also serve as greeters at all Theo Ubique performances.

Remaining "Cats" pack members are: Roy Brown as Munkustrap; Elliot Burton as Mungojerrie and Skimbleshanks; Sydney Charles as Grizzabella; Josh Huppert as Mr. Mistoffelees and Quaxo; Matt McNabb as Old Deuteronomy; Shannon Mulvey as Cassandra; Hillary Patingre as Jellylorum and Griddlebone; Rebecca Pink as Jennyanydots and Jemima; Maggie Portman as Demeter and Rumpleteazer; Tommy Rivera-Vega as Rum Tum Tugger; Emily Rogers as Victoria, and Tiffany Taylor as Bombalurina.
Performances until January 2 are 7:30 p.m., Thursdays; 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 and 7 p.m., Sundays. Due to the holidays, no performances will be held Friday and Saturday, Dec. 24-25, and the 2 p.m. performances on Sunday, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2. An added performance is 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 22. The Dec. 31 performance is a special New Year's Eve party/show/dinner package. Doors open, dinner is served and the shuttle van starts 90 minutes prior to curtain.

Tickets are $30 for Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, and a show/dinner package is $50. Saturday tickets are $35 with a $55 show/dinner package. The New Year's Eve party package for hors d'oeuvres, dinner, show, a cabaret show after "Cats" and midnight champagne toast is $75 until December 20 and $100 after the early sign-up deadline. Tickets can be purchased online through the web site at www.theoubique.org or www.theo-u.org or by calling the ticket service at 800-595-4849. The information line is 773-347-1109.

Free parking is available at the parking lot on the corner of Morse and Ravenswood with free rides on the Lifeline shuttle van to and from the lot. The No Exit Café is by the Morse stop on the Red Line. Special discounts are offered through Theo Ubique e-news announcements, which are available by signing up through the web site.
