The Route 66 Reading Series Continues with Wandachristine Tonight, 5/21

By:

The Route 66 montly reading series continues this month with the veteran of Stage, Screen, Film, and soon-to-be-published author, Wandachristine, tonight, May 21 at 7:30 PM, upstairs at Mrs. Murphy's Irish Bistro, Chicago IL.

I LOVE YOU MORE THAN SHOES is an entertaining solo performance that reveals a very unique and sometimes comical coming of age story. From pretty pink toe shoes to red-hot Prada 4 inch stilettos, from Chicago to Hollywood, from 10 to over 50 years of age, this actress shares delightful stories, incredulous situations and intimate points of view. With shoes dressed to impress, Cynthia dramatizes some of the most interesting characters she has met along her way in an unpredictable industry that is driven by thelatest "reality" trends and the young and beautiful people. At the end of the day, when all is said and done, Cynthia faces her career with a new attitude and a new pair of shoes.

Wandachristine is a veteran of stage, television, and film. Her television appearances include "ER," "Judging Amy," and "General Hospital." A few of her many film credits include "Me and Mrs. Jones," "City of Angels," "A Family Thing," "Patch Adams," and "Temporary Girl." She has also appeared on the stages of the Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf, Victory Gardens, Mark Taper Forum and the Los Angeles Theater Center. In addition to her work on stage, television and film, Wandachristine has also written a soon-to-be-released book based on the lives of three best friends working in Hollywood.

Route 66 Theatre Company produces plays and musicals that embrace the evolving American spirit of exploration and fearlessness.

Theatre is an invitation to discussion and participation, with both artists and patrons. Our journey begins with engaging our audiences in our play selection process through monthly reading events and ends in a season of Chicago-based premieres.

We value inclusion of many voices and a bold approach to stories with an urgency to be told. We take a no-holds-barred approach to bringing the highest quality of production values and performances to our Chicago audiences. Our programming is selected based on its ability to grab an audience emotionally and take us all on a theatrical "road trip" of discussion and discovery.
