The Neo-Futurists' Pride Weekend Presents 30 QUEER PLAYS IN 60 STRAIGHT MINUTES, 6/21-23

By:

The Neo-Futurists present their annual Pride Weekend benefit: 30 Queer Plays in 60 Straight Minutes, a special edition of Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind: 30 Plays in 60 Minutes that pulls favorite queer-sexuality and gender bending themed plays from the past year into one fabulous Pride show, to benefit and support local LGBTQ organizations. This year's beneficiary is UCAN's LGBTQ Host Home Program. Due to overwhelming demand, The Neos Pride Weekend has an added Thursday night performance, giving audiences an extra chance to celebrate and support Chicago's LGBTQ community with the Neo-family.

UCAN is a 143 year old social service organization serving almost 14,000 at risk children, youth and families each year. UCAN's LGBTQ Host Home Program is an intentionally small, non-institutionalized program that links homeless lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and/or questioning (LGBTQ) youth aged 18-24 with stable housing and supportive services. The first of its kind in Illinois, this program asks trained volunteers to open their homes to unstably-housed Chicago LGBTQ youth, ending LGBTQ youth homelessness one partnership at a time. For more information, visit www.ucanchicago.org.

You can also celebrate with The Neo-Futurists at the 31st Annual Proud to Run 2012 5K on Saturday, June 23rd (www.proudtorun.org) and as their float cruises through the Chicago 43rd Annual Pride Parade on Sunday, June 24th (www.chicagopridecalendar.org/parade.shtml).

30 Queer Plays in 60 Straight Minutes runs Thursday, June 21 through Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. Reservations recommended ($20): proceeds benefit UCAN's LGBTQ Host Home Program. Performances take place at The Neo-Futurarium, 5153 N. Ashland (at Foster).

For more information, call 773-275-5255 or visit www.neofuturists.org.
