The LIVINGroom Explores WHO YOU ARE... at Stage 773 in August

The LIVINGroom announces the lineup and details for the third installment of its 2017 solo performance season at Stage 773. Performers Shi An Co, Bo Kinney, Jorge Silva, and Van Ferdinand join ensemble members Megan Powell and Laura Reitsma in the Cabaret Theater at Stage 773 on Sundays, August 13, 20, and 27 in The LIVINGroom: You Are..., directed by LIVINGroom ensemble member Joel Reitsma. The LIVINGroom: You Are... is created in collaboration with Jeff Award-winning sound designer (Non-Equity award 2016) Jeffrey Levin.

Through solo performance integrating soundscapes, original music, spoken word, movement, and the audience, The LIVINGroom: You Are... explores self-empowerment, love, forgiveness, reconciliation, perspective, and the obstacles that stand in the way of being who you are. Anxieties will be probed through dance, personal polarities questioned through music, and old friendships surveyed for clues about our place in life now. There might even be one especially comfy chair for a lucky audience member to receive some special treatment.

The LIVINGroom: You Are... is directed by Joel Reitsma, a co-founder of The LIVINGroom and an active participant in the stage, film, solo performance, and vocal performance community in Chicago for nearly six years. Joel is a non-Equity Jeff Award-nominated actor, company member with Steep Theatre, and has performed with Steep, Steppenwolf Theatre, Raven Theatre, Red Twist Theatre, among others. Joel directed last year's Boiling Point performance for the LIVINGroom. Sound designer and composer Jeffrey Levin created sound design and music for The LIVINGroom's Playlist performances in 2016, and received the non-Equity Jeff Award for Sound Design (The Hairy Ape, Oracle Theatre) that same year. His original music, sound design, and music direction has been featured in over 70 productions at many Chicago theatres, including A Red Orchid, Windy City Playhouse, About Face Theatre, Cor Theatre (Company Member), TUTA, Emerald City, Stage Left, Strawdog Theatre, and Collaboraction.

The LIVINGroom: You Are... runs at 7:00 pm on Sundays, August 13, 20, and 27 at Stage 773, located at 1225 W. Belmont, Chicago. Tickets are $10, $7 for students with valid ID, and are available at the box office and at http://stage773.com, or 773-327-5252.
