THE AMERICAN DEMIGODS MAGNIFICENT OLD TYME VARIETY HOUR! Kicks Off

THE AMERICAN DEMIGODS have announced their next show, THE AMERICAN DEMIGODS MAGNIFICENT OLD TYME VARIETY HOUR!

It shall be a festive feast of entertainments including Time Warp Talk, a live talk show created and performed by Jordan Hoisington, (Ichthyoddyssey, The Rough House, The Gray Girl, Factory Theatre) Rory Leahy (Absolute Macbeth, Polarity Theatre, Artistic Director of American Demigods) and Ele Matelan (of House Theatre's The Sparrow and The Nutcracker) in which we'll meet famous figures of history and legend, and hear their views on contemporary issues of our day. Time Warp Talk is directed by Katie Horwitz, assistant director of Stage Left's Farragut North.

The night will also feature sketch comedy written by Hoisington, Leahy and David Wilhelm, star of American Demigods' smash hit, Erratica.

Other stars of the evening will be the scintillating burlesque dancing of Marie Curiosity, star of Gorilla Tango's current revue, A Nude Hope: A Star Wars Burlesque and the entirely adequate conjuring tricks of Rando, the World's Most Affordable Magician.

Rounding out our variety show will be musical performances by Lisa Wilhelm and (on selected nights) Dan Cooney.

Don't miss this wonderful night of music, magic and comedy. The music shall be magical! The magic shall be comedic! The comedy shall be all kinds of adjectives!

Previous American Demigods productions have included Erratica: An Academic Farce called "A smart little sleeper of a romantic comedy" by the Windy City Times, "sharp and sassy" by Chicago Theater Beat, and lauded for its "punch and verve" and "nimble wit" by the Chicago Reader.

Before that, The Irrelevant Adventures of Jarvis McFadden was called "quirky and charming" by Centerstage Chicago and praised for its "raw honesty and offbeat intelligence" by the Chicago Reader.

The American Demigods Magnificent Old Tyme Variety Showwill be performed at 7:30pm on Wednesdays, November 2nd, 9th, 16th and 30th at the Gorilla Tango Theater, 1919 N. Milwaukee Avenue.
