Student Blog: A Great Theater Teacher
If I were tasked with characterizing a great theater teacher, I would give them every trait of Mark Guerra.
An average theater teacher cares about their production, but a great theater teacher cares about the students putting on the production. An average theater teaches you to like theater, but a great theater teacher teaches you to love life. Anyone who knew Mark Guerra, or Mr. G as his students called him, would say he was a great theater teacher.
Although he was my teacher, I, and many other students, considered him a friend. He was one of the easiest, most enjoyable people to talk to, and he always found the good in those around him, even if there wasn't much good to find.

One of the traits that made Mr. G such a great teacher was his positivity. He always had a smile on his face and was ready to make his students feel good about themselves. He was also constantly spreading joy and happiness to everyone around him. Many of Mr. G's students have said that he was the most fun teacher they ever had. His presence and personality made each class fun.
Perhaps Mr. G's best trait was his kindness. Whether you were the lead in one of his productions, or you weren't even taking one of his classes, he was always ready to talk with you, laugh with you, and smile at you. When you were having a bad day, he would recognize it and try to make you feel better - and usually he did. Most of all, he always made sure everyone felt welcome and appreciated in his presence.
If I were tasked with characterizing a great theater teacher, I would give them every trait of Mark Guerra. If I were tasked with characterizing a great human, I would give them every trait of Mark Guerra.
Rest in peace Mr. G.
Your friends love and miss you.
