Short Story Theatre presents an evening of storytelling at 7 pm, Thursday, May 29, at Cellar Gate Wine Bar, 524 Sheridan Road, in Highwood.

On the roster for the evening are storytellers Rick Leslie of Highland Park and Ron Levitsky of Lake Forest - second cousins, who never knew each other until Short Story Theatre started two years ago, even though Rick's father and Ron's mother were first cousins in a close-knit family. Rick and Ron, both published writers, have now connected and recently discovered they were each writing stories about their uncles, who were first cousins. So for this event, they decided to tell their stories back and forth revealing family truths and old secrets.

In addition, Elizabeth Brown of Lake Forest will be telling a story about how to negotiate a cocktail party when you're not good at small talk.

Short Story Theatre is a troupe of writers/performers founded in 2012 by Susan Block and Rick Leslie of Highland Park and Donna Lubow of Riverwoods. For more information: www.shortstorytheatre.com or follow Short Story Theatre on Facebook.

Reservations are suggested: 847-748-8086 or cellargate@gmail.com. Storytelling tickets at the door are $5.00. Cellar Gate has a 2 drink or 1 drink/1 appetizer minimum.
