Second City Theatricals Presents Rush Limbaugh! The Musical, 1/31-3/24

Second City Theatricals will present the world premiere of Rush Limbaugh! The Musical at The Second City e.t.c. (1608 North Wells in Piper's Alley, Chicago, IL). The show will preview Sunday, January 31, 2010 at 2:00pm, open on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 8:30pm and will run Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8:30pm and Sundays at 2:00pm until March 24, 2010 at The Second City e.t.c. (1616 N Wells St, Chicago).

Brought to you by the same team that made Rod Blagojevich Superstar! an instant hit, Rush Limbaugh! The Musical takes us back to Rush's humble beginnings and follows his ascent to conservative dominance buoyed by characters like Ann Coulter, Karl Rove, and Donald Rumsfeld despite confrontations with Hillary Clinton and Barney Frank. The score for the show will feature a pastiche of Broadway musicals such as Spring Awakening, Wicked, and Rent. You can call it "Dispirit of the Radio."

Rush Limbaugh! The Musical will reunite the creative team of Ed Furman (Book) and T.J. Shanoff (Music & Lyrics) with Director Matt Hovde (Jeff Award Winner Best Director: Studs Terkel's Not Working). Lead by Mark Sutton in the title role, the cast includes: Karla Beard, Bumper Carroll, Cayne Collier, Colleen Murray, and Kevin Sciretta. The band includes Musical Director T.J. Shanoff (piano), Trey Stone (bass/keyboard), and Tony Mendoza (percussion). The Stage Manager is Joe Ruffner and the Choreographer is Lisa McQueen.

Second City Theatricals President is Kelly Leonard and Production Coordinator is Monica Wilson; Beth Kligerman is Director of Talent. Second City's Chief Operating Officer is Diana Martinez and the CEO/Executive Producer of The Second City is Andrew Alexander.
