About The von Trapp Children

The Sound of Music captured the hearts of millions when the film debuted in 1965. Now, 40 years later, the von Trapp's family legacy is born anew. Meet the von Trapp Children: Sofia (22), Melanie (20), Amanda (19), and Justin (16). They are the great-grandchildren of Captain von Trapp, father of the famous singing family whose story captivated the world in the musical The Sound of Music. The children have continued the tradition of the family's exceptional musical gift and love of singing, sharing songs and heart-warming family stories of life before and after coming to America.

Musicians and audiences of all ages recognize the children's beautiful harmonic blend and pristine tone. As a result, they are in demand as symphony and pops orchestra guest artists. The von Trapp Children have performed with such major orchestras as Boston Pops, Atlanta, Baltimore, Toronto, Cincinnati, Dallas, Indianapolis, Detroit, Phoenix, Houston, Pacific and Milwaukee Symphonies and the Minnesota Orchestra, as well as the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa and Peter Nero and the Philly Pops.

The von Trapp Children have recorded five albums: The von Trapp Children, Vol. 1, released nationally in January, 2003; The von Trapp Children, Vol. 2, released in September, 2004; and Christmas with The von Trapp Children. The von Trapp Children a cappella album was released in 2007; a live DVD was released in 2008; and Snow, an album of all-new seasonal music by Hollywood songwriters Jay Chattaway and Wayne Lammers, has been scheduled for re-release for the 2011 holiday season.
