Pride Films and Plays December PRIDE FILM FESTIVAL Titles Announced

Pride Films and Plays' monthly festival of LGBTQ independent films, which was launched in October, will continue with its third monthly festival on Tuesday, December 12. The four films to be screened all reflect on the theme "The Families of the LGBT Community." Understanding our family members, revealing who we are as individuals and who we are as families.

Adult
Directed by Jamieson Pearce, Australia, 12min.

Having enabled a loss that now torments her, an old woman enters an adult store in search of redemption. Adapted from a short story by Christos Tsiolkas.

Cas
Directed by Joris van den Berg, Netherlands, 50 min.

In the comedy-drama CAS, Pepijn and Sjors' steady, seven-year relationship is shaken up after they allow a young student named Cas to sleep on their couch until he finds a place of his own. Gradually, both men fall head over heels for Cas' laconic charm and it forces them to reconsider their many long-term plans. Is Cas' presence endangering their relationship or is he actually a blessing in disguise? Pool

Claudia decides to investigate her grandmother's past, who recently passed away. Through a letter, she comes to Marlene, an old German lady who lives in Brazil and keeps her memories inside a pool without water. During the visit, the old lady reveals details of her life that intersect with Claudia's grandmother's past, a German fugitive of the 2nd World War. The Cycle

THE CYCLE follows the homecoming journey of a gay Singaporean man, who desires his father's acceptance of his husband, their soon-to-be born son and ultimately, himself. The man reconnects with his childhood through a game of Chinese chess with his father, and satisfies a childhood desire to learn how to cycle from him. ABOUT PRIDE ARTS CENTER

Pride Arts Center (PAC), operated by Pride Films and Plays, opened in 2016 and consists of two performance spaces: The Buena at 4147 N. Broadway which has 50 seats and The Broadway at 4139 N. Broadway which has 85 seats. PAC has become an important part of the arts environment in the Buena Park neighborhood and beyond by hosting events including After Orlando, Bechdel Fest, SheFest and the 525,600 Minutes Cabaret.
