Photo Flash: First Look at CABARET, Opening Tonight at Big Noise Theatre
Big Noise Theatre Company, a division of Winnetka Theatre, continues their 2016 season with the musical play CABARET, written by John Kander, Fred Ebb, and Joe Masteroff. CABARET will be performed at the Prairie Lakes Theater, 515 East Thacker Street, Des Plaines, IL, from tonight, April 22nd through May 8th, 2016. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!
Director Brad Kisner says, "Based on events that took place during a dark historical period, CABARET is a collection of brilliant sketches of a society in decay. Big Noise Theatre's production looks to realistically portray the individuals who lived during this time through the lens of a great American musical."
Welcome to the infamous Kit Kat Klub, where the Emcee (David Geinosky), Sally Bowles (Laura Sportiello), and a raucous ensemble take the stage nightly to tantalize the crowd - and leave their troubles outside. But as life in 1930s Germany grows more uncertain; will the decadent allure of Berlin nightlife be enough to get them through their dangerous times? One of the most powerful and popular musicals of the 20th century, the score contains many well known hits including "Willkommen," "Mein Herr," "Maybe This Time," and the title song "CABARET."
The cast includes - David Geinosky (Elk Grove), Laura Sportiello (Chicago), Michael Greenlief (Lombard), Lauren Miller (Chicago), Ken Rubenstein (Chicago), Andrew Thayer (Hoffman Estates), Alli Braun (Oak Park). With an ensemble of Megan Arseneau, Rebecca Fortier, Tressa Greschak, Justine Klein, Isaac Loomer, Kristin Ross, Peter Ruger, Lucy Scherschligt, Annie Snow, Joseph Wesolowski, Chase Wheaton-Werle and Marissa Williams.
The production staff features: Producer by Daiva Paulis (Chicago), Brad Kisner- Director (Chicago), Bobby Andrews- Choreographer (Chicago), and Jeff Poindexter- Music Director (Palatine).
