Promethean Theatre Ensemble is pleased to announce the full cast of their upcoming production of the Shakespeare classic Measure for Measure.

Joining the previously announced PTE ensemble members Beth Wolf as Isabella, Nick Lake as Lucio, and Derek Jarvis as Elbow are PTE ensemble member Brian Pastor as Angelo, along with Zach Clark as Claudio, Christina Hall as Mistress Overdone, Carrie Hardin as Mariana, Marco Minichiello as Pompey, Tyler Rich as Varrius and others, Laura Schwartz as Juliet, Emma Kate Starling as Escalus, Robert Tobin as Duke Vincentio, Nat Topping as Froth and others, and Herman Wilkins as the Provost.

In this saucy and salacious take on the classic tale, Measure for Measure transports us to the debauched and depraved city of Shakespeare's imagined Vienna. In order to curb the city's reckless ways, the Duke places the seemingly morally upright Angelo in power in his absence. When Angelo gives in to the temptation to abuse his power, the virginal nun Isabella must choose between accepting his advances and sacrificing her brother's life.

Measure for Measure is directed by June Eubanks. Previous directing credits include The Taming of a Shrew with the Hollywood Blvd Theatre in Miami, and her own synopsis-sketches of King John and The Merry Wives of Windsor with the Illinois Shakespeare Festival. Also an actress, June has previously appeared in Promethean Theatre Ensemble's Evening of Shakespeare series, and recently appeared in Caryl Churchill's Top Girls with 20% Theatre Co - Chicago.

Measure for Measure will run May 15 to June 13, Thursdays-Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Opening night is on Saturday, May 16 at 8 p.m., with an additional performance for the convenience of the press on Monday, May 18 at 7 p.m. All performances will take place at City Lit Theater, 1020 W Bryn Mawr Ave, Chicago. The box office is now open, and reservations can be made by calling (773) 305-2897 or visiting www.prometheantheatre.org.

Since their inaugural production of Christopher Durang's Beyond Therapy in 2006, Promethean Theatre Ensemble has striven to bring audiences and artists together to collaborate in storytelling. Employing simplicity of design and performance to engage the imagination, the company produces plays rooted in creativity, language and ideas. With the support of its dedicated ensemble, Promethean has gone on to produce Our Country's Good, The Light of Love, Six Characters in Search of an Author, their Jeff-Recommended production of The Illusion, and their popular Evening of Shakespeare series. The company has also collaborated with the Chicago and Evanston Public Libraries to offer theatre education to teens. http://www.prometheantheatre.org
