Noble Fool Presents a Summer Series of National & Local Touring Acts

By: Jun. 15, 2010

The Fox Valley area will get to experience the wide variety of the Chicago music and comedy scene as Noble Fool Theatricals presents some of the nation's most popular shows during their 2010 summer season, including: the hilarious salute to the past with The Wonder Bread Years; Chicago's favorite Neil Diamond Tribute, Denny Diamond; one of the greatest family musicals of all time, Wizard of Oz; the rock n' roll evolution, The Neverly Brothers; the longest running solo play in Broadway history, Defending the Caveman; and Chicago's favorite couple, Tony n' Tina's Wedding at Pheasant Run Resort (4051 E. Main St., St. Charles, IL; 630-584-6342).

Catch the show that has Jerry Seinfeld's "funny seal of approval." Return back to the simple times with a comical salute to the Baby Boomer Generation. You're in for a real treat (better than a Dilly bar!) as The Wonder Bread Years reminisces about the childhood of an American kid in the 1960s and 70s. This fast-paced show restores a much-needed sense of wonder and will leave you savoring memories from the past, including green army men, Etch-A Sketch, Sugar Pops and "The Howdy Doody Show." The Wonder Bread Years runs July 9-11; Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $39. Overnight and dinner packages are available.

Spend an evening with Denny Diamond as he pays tribute to Neil Diamond, one of pop music's most enduring and successful singer-songwriters of all time. With his smooth baritone voice and flawless renditions of his hit songs, he'll make you "a believer" of his high acclaim talent. Includes "Sweet Caroline", Cherry Cherry", Cracklin' Rose", "I'm a Believer", and more. Denny Diamond performs July 17 at 8 p.m. and tickets are $39. Overnight and dinner packages are available.

Prepare to be transported "over the rainbow" by the NFT Youth Ensemble! Join Dorothy and Toto on their quest along the Yellow Brick Road to see the Wizard of Oz. You'll see all your favorite characters including the Tin Man, Cowardly Lion, and Scarecrow brought to life on stage in the greatest family musical of all time. Wizard of Oz performs on the Pheasant Run Mainstage July 23 - August 8. Showtimes are Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 10:30 a.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for children 12 & under. Lunch and dinner packages are available.

Experience the fiery energy of Chicago's Neverly Brothers as they bridge the gap between 50s rockabilly and the early 60s British invasion - on a retro-sonic joyride from Memphis, Tennessee to Liverpool, England...and back! Includes show-stopping renditions of early hits by Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and many more. The Neverly Brothers perform on August 7 at 8 p.m and tickets are $39.

Broadway's longest running solo play, Defending the Caveman, will return to Noble Fool Theatricals to have both sexes roaring with laughter and recognition. The misunderstandings of the gender gap are insightfully revealed in the ways men and women fight, laugh, and love. Rob Becker's Defending the Caveman mimes The Common themes in relationships that go straight to the funny bone. Defending the Caveman runs August 13-15; Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 4:30 and 8 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $39. Overnight and dinner packages are available.

If you like the Rolling Stones, you'll love the sound, look, costumes, and energy Chicago's very own Hot Rocks will bring to the mainstage. This famous Rolling Stones Tribute 'show' of the Midwest will have you shouting the words to "Jumping Jack Flash," clapping along to "Brown Sugar," and will leave you feeling nothing but pure "Satisfaction." Hot Rocks performs on August 21 at 8 p.m. and tickets are $29.

Close up your summer at an outrageous wedding with Chicago's favorite couple. You're invited to be a guest at Tony n' Tina's hysterical Italian-American wedding, where you're part of the family. Toast the happy couple, enjoy the Italian buffet dinner and dance the night away! Who knows what mishaps and madcap comedy may happen in one of Pheasant Run Resort's finest ballrooms. Tony n' Tina's Wedding returns to Noble Fool August 27 at 7 p.m. after previous sold-out performances. Tickets are $69 and overnight packages are available.

Ample free parking and valet services are available at Pheasant Run Resort. The resort and theaters are wheelchair accessible and hearing amplification systems are available. Ask the box office about dinner packages with Pheasant Run Resort's award-winning Harvest Steak & Seafood Restaurant and the newly remodeled Garden Atrium Buffet.

Pheasant Run Resort is located at 4051 E. Main St. in St. Charles, IL. For tickets, call the Pheasant Run Box Office at 630-584-6342 or visit www.ticketmaster.com. Additional performance information can be obtained at www.noblefool.org.
