Musicians, Poets, Filmmakers Round Out the Final CHICAGO LIVE! 3/17

Jam-packed with comedy, musical performances and commentary, CHICAGO LIVE! is a weekly live stage show, taped for WGN Radio, that showcases who and what is making news in Chicago. Featuring topical comedy sketches by members of the award-winning The Second City, interviews with newsmakers and athletes, and rare, up-close performances by talent typically headlining theater and music club stages, Season Two continues at the intimate Chicago Theatre Downstairs, 175 N. State Street, Thursday evenings, through March 17, at 6:30pm. Following each show will be a "meet and mingle" reception with the cast. Season two is sponsored by The Nielsen Company.

Presented by the Chicago Tribune, in partnership with The Second City, CHICAGO LIVE! is a fast-paced 60-minute program, building a bridge between the newsroom and the audience. Hosted by Rick Kogan, a veteran Chicago reporter, author and radio/TV personality, CHICAGO LIVE! utilizes the abundance of talent from each institution. The live shows are taped for broadcast (and podcast) on WGN Radio (720AM) Saturdays at 11 pm. Show recaps and behind-the-scenes footage are also available at www.chicagolive.com.

Kevin Coval and Louder Than A Bomb high school poetry slam competition finalists
Poetry Slam founder Marc Smith
Chicago Sake founders Kerry Tamura and John Robinson speaking with Tribune writer Lauren Viera. Sake tastings will be provided during the post-show reception.

Former Irish Queen and "Chicago's Irish Diva" Catherine O'Connell , joined by the newly crowned 2011 Queen, Sarah Gorecki
Alt-country hero Robbie Fulks with a live acoustic performance

Each show also features Kogan's "Almanac," spotlighting a year in Chicago history as a means not only to reflect on the past but to remind us where we might be going. Through words, images and music, the "Almanac" is an entertaining and enlightening time-trip.

CHICAGO LIVE! will return for Season Three this Spring, May 5 - June 9.
