MidTangent Productions Wins 2008 Pressie for Best Local Theater Company
By: Eddie Varley
MidTangent Productions Wins the 2008 Pressie for Best Local Theater Company. Chicago Press readers chose this smaller theater company, known for its annual gay version of a Shakespeare classic, "A Midsummer Night's Dream: A Queer Tale."
This year's production starred Kit Kat Lounge performer Madame X.
Once again, the CFP Best in Community Awards, the Pressies, offered both new surprises about our community and familiar reminders of the people, places and events that we know and love. This year your write-in votes, both online and from mail polling, were the sole factors determining the outcomes.
The results that follow offer a great portrait of Chicago's GLBT community and those people and businesses that have done a terrific job in reaching out to us.A comprehensive list of the winners, as well as those deserving honorable mention can be found here.
