By:

The musical theatre treasure CABARET kicks off the Marriott Theatre's 2014 season with previews tonight, January 15, opening January 22 and running through March 16 at 10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire. CABARET is Kander and Ebb's legendary musical about English cabaret performer Sally Bowles, American writer Clifford Bradshaw, and the decadence of 1929 Berlin. The production will be directed by David H. Bell with choreography by Matt Raftery and Musical Direction by Ryan T. Nelson.

With mounting fear and uncertainty outside, your Emcee welcomes you into the Kit Kat Klub and a world where your troubles are left at the door. CABARET is written by Joe Masteroff with music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb. The classic score includes "Maybe This Time", "Money", and of course, "Cabaret". Based on Christopher Isherwood's novel "The Berlin Stories" and John Van Druten's play I Am a Camera, CABARET won eight 1967 Tony Awards (including Best Musical and Best Score) and Bob Fosse's 1972 film adaptation won eight Oscars, including Best Actress for Liza Minnelli.

CABARET features Megan Sikora (Broadway: Wicked, Curtains, How to Succeed..., The Nance, Thoroughly Modern Millie) as Sally Bowles, Patrick Sarb (Marriott: Fiddler on the Roof, Broadway: Mamma Mia!) as Clifford Bradshaw, and Stephen Schellhardt (Marriott: South Pacific, Full Monty, Thoroughly Modern Millie; Drury Lane: Hot Mikado (Jeff nom.)) as the Emcee.
