Marriott Theatre For Young Audiences Presents A CHRISTMAS CAROL, The Musical 11/13-1/2/2010
This holiday season, the Marriott Theatre for Young Audiences presents A CHRISTMAS CAROL, THE MUSICAL. It is the endearing combination of a treasured tale with the soaring music by a Disney musical genius - and the result is breathtaking. Composer Alan Menken (The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin) infuses the Dickens holiday classic with music the whole family will cherish. A CHRISTMAS CAROL, THE MUSICAL will be presented from November 13th through January 2nd at the Marriott Theater, 10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire, IL. Audience favorite Rachel Rockwell (Aladdin, High School Musical, Wizard of Oz, Cinderella, Princess and the Pea) will direct the production.
After ten smash years on Broadway, The NEW YORK TIMES raved that A CHRISTMAS CAROL, THE MUSICAL is "a tonic for adults, and for children a transfixing journey." Based on Charles Dickens' beloved novel, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, THE MUSICAL is set in London in the 1800s. On Christmas Eve, a miserly old man named Ebenezer Scrooge is confronted by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future. The ghosts reveal the possible results of his selfish, uncaring life. Throughout the inspiring story, Scrooge promises to change and become a new man. Featuring a soaring score with breathtaking new music, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, THE MUSICAL is full of holiday cheer for all ages.
A CHRISTMAS CAROL, THE MUSICAL stars Chicagoland favorites Gene Weygandt (Wicked, The Light in the Piazza) as Scrooge, George Keating (through Nov 29th) and Bernie Yvon (Starting Dec 1st) as Marley (through November 29th), and George Andrew Wolff as Bob Cratchit. Also featured are McKinley Carter, Arielle Leigh Dayan, Adam Estes, Jerry Galante, Will Higgins, Matthew Jones, Susan Moniz, Vanessa Panerosa, Jonah Rawitz, Hollis Resnik, Ryan Reilly, Laura Scheinbaum, Elianna Kate Schnittman, Summer Smart, Richard Strimer, Brady Tutton and Brooks Whitlock.

Musical Direction is by Michael Mahler, Sound Design by Robert Gilmartin, Lighting Design by Jesse Klug, Costume Design by Nancy Missimi, Projection Design by Mike Tutaj and Properties Design is by Jesse Gaffney.
