Lost Note Presents Inaugural Obscure Musical I CAN GET IT FOR YOU WHOLESALE, Now thru 5/1
Lost Note Theater Company, dedicated to presenting concert readings of obscure and forgotten musicals, just announced its inaugural production: I Can Get it for You Wholesale, playing three performances only, tonight, April 27 - May 1 at Strawdog Theatre Company's Hugen Hall (3829 N. Broadway in Chicago). Performances are Saturday at 3 p.m. and Tuesday and Wednesday at 7 p.m.
With book by Jerome Weidman (based on his novel) and music & lyrics by Harold Rome, Lost Note's production is directed by Stephen Murray with musical direction by Charlotte Rivard-Hoster. The score includes "When Gemini Meets Capricorn," "The Sound of Money" and "What's in it for Me?"

I CAN GET IF FOR YOU WHOLESALE features Barbara Berndt, Mary Jo Bolduc, Ashly Dalene, Erin Daly, Jeffrey Gitelle, Steven Greist, Paul G. Miller, Annie Passanisi and Brian Rooney.
This 1962 musical, which ran for 300 performances on Broadway, chronicles the rise and fall of Harry Bogen, a backstabbing businessman determined to climb to the top of New York's garment trade. I Can Get it for You Wholesale is best remembered for the Broadway debut of Barbra Streisand in the role of Miss Marmelstein, Harry's long-suffering secretary.
