Local Youth Actors Invited to Audition for Fox Valley Rep's Fundraising Performance

The Fox Valley Rep Performing Arts Academy is eager to have local youth audition for a variety of performance opportunities, including: "Broadway's Best" Teen Master Class and Fundraising Performance, "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" Kids Musical, the Teens Play Comedy "Scenes From a Dance", and the Youth Ensemble's summer production of "Little Shop of Horrors." All auditions and programs take place at Fox Valley Rep's home - Pheasant Run Resort (4051 E. Main St., St. Charles, IL; education telephone 630-364-0550).
"For ages 6 to 19 years old, we have the ability to offer these advanced educational programs that are designed for the best and the brightest young talent in the area," says Education Manager Tracy Whiteside. "All of these productions are in addition to the spring and summer classes we offer, which are open to all experience levels."Artistic Director John Gawlik adds, "We're excited to have this very special "Broadway's Best" Master Class this year. The singers selected for this great program will have the opportunity to showcase their talent in a Benefit Performance for the community to come and support the arts on May 20 and 22. "LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS" Full-Length Youth Ensemble Summer 2011 Musical
Ages: 12-19
Open Auditions:
Sunday, April 3 from 5-7 pm or
Monday, April 4 from 5-7 pmPrepare and memorize a 1-minute monologue in the style of the show which portrays the character you are most interested in playing. Memorize 16 bars of a song from a similar style show. Bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. Do not bring CDs. Singing a cappella is not recommended. Actors will be taught a dance routine. Be prepared to dance with proper shoes and clothing.About the FVR Performing Arts Academy
