Lifeline Announces Spring/Summer 2009 Kids' Events

Rogers Park's award-winning Lifeline Theatre continues bringing educational opportunities to children. The following is the Spring/Summer 2009 Kids' Event listings for Lifeline Theatre.

"Presidents' Day Workshop" – noted Chicago puppet designer Allison Daniel will teach a three-hour workshop on making and using puppets, appropriate for ages 7-12. This event will take place on Monday, February 16, 2009, 9 a.m. to 12 noon, at Lifeline Theatre, 6912 N. Glenwood Ave. Tickets cost $25. "Stories Come Alive!" - Lifeline actors will read stories and play drama games with children ages 5-8 (parents welcome too), featuring pieces from Lifeline's spring children's show "Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle," which runs at Lifeline Theatre from March 14 – May 3, 2009. This event will take place on Saturday, February 28, 2009, 3-4 p.m., at Rogers Park Library, 6907 N. Clark St. Admission is free. For further information at Lifeline Theatre call 773-761-4477.

9th Annual Summer Drama Camp – Lifeline's professional artists teach basic drama skills which emphasize self-esteem building, artistry and teamwork in an atmosphere of mutual encouragement and respect, appropriate for ages 7-12. This class will be taking place from July 13 – 24, 2009, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., at Lifeline Theatre, 6912 N. Glenwood Ave. Tuition costs $625 per child or $375 per child for half-day sessions (9 a.m. – 12 noon). For further information and registration call 773-761-4477.

8th Annual Glenwood Avenue Arts Festival – this popular festival features arts and crafts, theater, music, food and drink for the whole family on the brick streets of historic Rogers Park. This event will be taking place on August 22 and August 23, 2009, at 6900 – 7000 North Glenwood Avenue (between Farwell and Lunt), and the 1400 block of Morse Avenue, steps from the Morse Ave stop on the CTA Red Line, with free parking nearby.
