Hot Tix Sets New Sales Records

By:

The League of Chicago Theatres announces that for a third year in a row the Hot Tix half-prIce Ticket program is setting new sales records. As of June 30, 2011 Hot Tix sold 120,000 tickets, with 2.5 million in revenue returned to Chicago theaters. This figure beats the previous fiscal year's record of 82,000 tickets and $1.9 million in revenue returned to Chicago theater companies by 38,000 tickets. Overall ticket sales at Hot Tix increased a staggering 46% from FY2010.

"We are delighted that Hot Tix continues to grow and that more Chicagoans and tourists are using Hot Tix to explore the world's best theatre," said Deb Clapp, League of Chicago Theatre's Executive Director. "The half-prIce Ticket program continues to make theater affordable and accessible for thousands of Chicagoans and tourists, and returns valuable earned revenue to Chicago area theaters."

Hot Tix offers half-prIce Tickets to more than 200 Chicago area theaters, full prIce Tickets to all Ticketmaster events including concerts and sports, and Play Money gift certificates. Hot Tix tickets are always half-price and may be purchased up to a week in advance of the performance. Hot Tix ticket centers are located in the Loop at 72 E. Randolph Street, at the Chicago Tourism Center and on North Michigan Ave. at the Waterworks Visitors Center located at 163 E. Pearson. Hot Tix are available for purchase online at HotTix.org.
