.30-30 Productions presents the world premiere of "How to Field Dress in Lilly Pulitzer", the one woman show written and performed by Cora Vasseur at The Gorilla Tango Theater tonight, April 29th at 8 pm.

The show tells the tale of a Northerner's love-hate relationship with the Republic of Texas coming to a boil when she falls for a Texan and battles Southern belles, culture shock, and her identity crisis.

Stemming from strong Chicago roots but growing up in rural Illinois, most of the material was inspired by Vasseur coming from two worlds and resisting identifying as a "country girl".

"For example, I grew up on rock and blues music. I thought I had an allergy to country music until overnight I enjoyed it," said Vasseur. "I was really struggling with it. I didn't know who I was or what this meant about me." The stories range from her affinity for boots, bourbon, and mudding to allowing herself to be vulnerable, believing she is enough, and fleshing out her self- worth.

"I'm a country girl who loves the city and a city girl who doesn't mind her neighbors being 150 acres off," said Vasseur. "Writing the show helped me accept I'll never be fully one identity. They're all apart of me."

A graduate of Second City's Comedy Writing Program, Vasseur wrote, directed, and produced sketch comedy and comedic songs around Chicago. A longtime fan of Garrison Keillor, David Sedaris, and Jeanne Robertson, she now enjoys sharing her own stories at live lit events.

Vasseur's work has been described as "clear, simple and honest." It has also been described as "chocolate and chilies: sweet, familiar, with an enticing zing you soon crave."

Vasseur is now available for interviews. For tickets and more information, visit gorillatango.com or call (773)-598-4549.
