Greenhouse Theater To Host Free Open House Sept 6th

GREENHOUSE THEATER TO HOST FREE OPEN HOUSE SEPTEMBER 6th

 


Summer is coming to a close and what better way to get acquainted with this autumn's hot shows than getting a sneak peak at The Greenhouse's Open House!  Come preview the fall line-ups of four of Chicago's hottest Off-Loop theater companies and fall back into theater at the Greenhouse Theater, Saturday, September 6 from 4 pm to 6 pm, at The Greenhouse Theater, 2257 N. Lincoln Avenue, Chicago. 

Fall Back into Theater at the Greenhouse is a free menagerie of live theater showcasing the diverse array of theater companies connected to The Greenhouse Theater including: Eclipse Theatre Company, MPAACT, Shattered Globe Theatre and the nearby Victory Gardens Biograph Theater. All four companies will present sneak peaks of their fall productions. Five lucky winners will have immediate gratification when five pairs of tickets are raffled off to that evening's 8 pm preview of Shattered Globe's season opener, Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie. One lucky winner will also enjoy dinner for two before the show at one of the Greenhouse Theater's dining partners.  Presentations will include:

Eclipse Theatre Company will preview their fall production of Lillian Hellman's The Autumn Garden; the third show in their two-part Celebration Series, celebrating their mission of one playwright, one season for the past ten years. 

MPAACT, will showcase scenes from its upcoming production of Kevin Douglas' No Experience Necessary, which explores the points of view, inconsistencies, fears and ridiculousness of Americans, as they are forced out of there comfort zones with this years election as Americans are faced with the possibility of a non-traditional president. 


Shattered Globe Theatre will raffle off 5 pairs of tickets to that evening's preview of The Glass Menagerie plus one dinner for two for that evening at a local restaurant.  

Victory Gardens Theater will present a sneak-peek scene from its upcoming 2008/2009 season, which will be presented two blocks north at the Victory Gardens Biograph Theater.

In between sampling the diversity of companies and plays that can be seen at the Greenhouse and Victory Gardens Biograph on any given night, guests will enjoy free food and refreshments from neighboring Lincoln Avenue bars and restaurants.  Everyone will be invited to enter-to-win free tickets, subscriptions, and more. The first 100 people will go home with a goodie bag full of fun promotional items, Greenhouse Theater mints, and more.
