Gorilla Tango Theatre to Present GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS, 7/26-8/3

By:

Gorilla Tango's Skokie Theatre is pleased to present David Mamet's GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS, performing Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m., July 26-August 3, 2013 at Gorilla Tango's Skokie Theatre (7924 Lincoln Avenue, Skokie IL 60077). Tickets are $25; to purchase tickets visit www.gorillatango.com or call 847-677-7761.

Winner of the 1984 Pulitzer Prize, David Mamet's scalding comedy shows parts of two days in the lives of desperate Chicago real estate agents who are prepared to engage in any number of unethical, illegal acts-from lies and flattery to bribery, threats, intimidation and burglary-to sell undesirable real estate to unwitting prospective buyers.

Directed by Ron Ben-Joseph, GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS is a story for everyone who works for a living. Says Ben-Joseph, "I have worked many different sales jobs in my life and so the concept of 'Always Be Closing' is a mantra that resonates deeply with me. I have worked along side Ricky Romas and Shelly Levenes. Because of my sales background this play is probably the most personal production I have ever worked on."

The cast features: Chris Miller, Ricky March, Rand Ringgenberg, Bruce Moore, John Clucas, Josh Greiveldinger and Eddie Kal-El Torres. Continues Mr. Ben-Joseph, "We are fortunate to have an ensemble of actors that are both extremely talented and unique - every single one of them has just the right amount of depth and power necessary to portray these well known characters." Most notably Ricky March (as Shelly Levene) will delight and surprise. "He is a professional stand-up comedian and performs all over the country at clubs, bars, and corporate events. Playing Shelly Levene is his first dramatic role. He's always cracking everybody up in rehearsal."

GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS speaks to everyone and anyone who has ever had to sell for a living. Mr. Ben-Joseph thinks it will particularly resonate with the Skokie community at this time of economic ups and downs: "Glengarry Glen Ross is about how hard you have to work to make a commission and how competitive it is. But it also speaks to how far are you willing to go to put dinner on the table for your family."
