Fox Country Players and the Waubonsee Community College Department of Community Education will present "Urinetown the Musical" on Oct. 6, 7, 13, 14 and 15 at the Waubonsee Community College Auditorium in Sugar Grove. In the play, a 20-year drought has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets.

The citizens must use public amenities regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides that he's had enough and plans a revolution. Winner of three Tony Awards, three Outer Critics Circle Awards, two Lucille Lortel Awards and two Obie Awards, "Urinetown" is a hilarious musical satire of the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement, municipal politics and musical theater itself. Hilariously funny and touchingly honest, "Urinetown" provides a fresh perspective on one of America's greatest art forms.

"Urinetown the Musical" is directed by Christopher Roe of Geneva, musically directed by Lisa Wukitch of Geneva, choreographed by Jordan DePhillips of Naperville, and produced by Jen Whittington of Bolingbrook.

The cast includes: Hannah Schober of Elmhurst, Bryan Fowler of Genoa, Mark Wayne of Yorkville, Jen Whittington of Bolingbrook, Matt Teeling of Yorkville, Jake Teeling of Yorkville, Allison Scigalski of Aurora, Eliseo Martinez of Oswego, Savannah Johnson of Yorkville, Robyn Lycan of Montgomery, Nikki Miller of Naperville, Ive Torres of Aurora, Jacob Decker of North Aurora and Layla Bohl of Yorkville. This production is rated PG-13. Performances will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 6, Oct. 7, Oct. 13 and Oct. 14.

A matinee performance will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 15. Tickets are $15 for students and seniors (65 and older) and $20 for adults. All seats are reserved and can be purchased through the college at waubonseetickets.com or at the door. Visit foxcountryplayers.org for more information.
