Back by student demand, the Fox Valley Rep Performing Arts Academy is excited to offer an intensive Master Class for serious teens looking to pursue theater professionally. Chicago's industry professionals are coming together for a 5-day camp beginning August 1, 2011 at Pheasant Run Resort (4051 E. Main St., St. Charles, IL; admin telephone 630-443-0438).
Each class will be taught by a different industry professional that will concentrate on a specific discipline: Singing, Monologues, Theatre Auditions, Improvisation, Cold Reading and On-Camera Auditions. Guest instructors include successful Music Director Tom Clear, Improv Actor Jock Schloss, Brooke Shoemaker of Gray Talent Group, Director
Matt Miller of TPR Casting, and Fox Valley Rep's Artistic Director John Gawlik.
"This advanced class really connects our technique classes with the real world of today's theater industry. Students will be able to apply what they have learned so far and master them into skills taught by some of Chicago's working industry professionals," says Fox Valley Rep Education Manager Tracy Whiteside.
Students will be required to prepare materials in advance to get the most out of each class. Participants will receive individualized attention within the group setting. Each class member will be critiqued and given honest feedback while learning the skills needed to succeed in the business. Classes will include mock auditions.
This exclusive program will accept a maximum of 10 students ages 13 to 19 only.
A professional headshot and resume can be emailed to education@foxvalleyrep.org or mailed to Tracy Whiteside, Fox Valley Rep/Teen Master Class, 4052 E. Main St., St. Charles, 60174 to arrive no later than July 15th. Applicants without a professional headshot and resume will not be considered. If selected, students will be notified by email with registration instructions and preparation information.
