Emily Hindrichs Replaces Claudia Boyle in Chicago Opera Theater's THE MAGIC FLUTE, Opening Tonight, 9/15
Chicago Opera Theater (COT) announces that Emily Hindrichs will be taking over the role of The Queen of the Night in the upcoming production of Mozart's The Magic Flute. This will be Hindrichs' first performance with COT, in a role she has sung with great success in the US and abroad.
Irish soprano Claudia Boyle was originally engaged to sing the role, but last-minute visa complications prevented her trip to the United States.
The Magic Flute opens tonight, September 15th at the Harris Theater in Millennium Park and runs for four performances through September 23rd. Tickets are available now at ChicagoOperaTheater.org or at 312.704.8414.
Emily Hindrichs is from New Orleans, LA. Emily Hindrichs is emerging as one of the most important coloratura sopranos of our time. Her chilling interpretation of the Queen of the Night in Mozart's Die Zauberflötehas taken her to debuts with the English National Opera and Oper Frankfurt, Seattle Opera, New Orleans Opera, as well as with the Lyric Opera of Chicago where she covered 10 performances earlier this year.
