Emerald City Theatre to Present Junie B. Jones in... JINGLE BELLS, BATMAN SMELLS!

Joining its 2016 fall repertoire, Emerald City Theatre (ECT) will open its revival of the highly praised holiday comedy, Junie B. Jones in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells, directed by ECT Artistic Director Jacqueline Stone with movement direction by Aileen McGroddy.

The production will feature Elizabeth Stenholt (Junie B. Jones), Jacklyn Hennell (May), Darren Hill (Mr. Scary), Aaron Lawson (Herb), Katie Griggs Streit (Lucille/Elf Ellen), JohAnn George (Jose/Mr Toot), Jerome Riley Jr (Sheldon), Charlotte Ostrow (Female Understudy), Miguel Long (Mr Scar/Jose/Mr Toot Understudy), Terry Bell (Herb/Sheldon Understudy).

The production team also includes William Boles (Scenic Designer), Katherine Pavlovna Goldberg (Costume Designer), Keith Parham (Lighting Designer), Jeffrey Levin (Sound Designer), Letitia Guillaud (Props Designer), Andy Kauff (Master Electrician), Kristin Johnson (Audio Engineer), Marni Balint (Wardrobe Supervisor), Leslie Cobb (Stage Manager), Alex Weisman (Casting Director), and Rebeccah Singer (Assistant Director).

Based on the best-selling book series by Barbara Park, this critically-acclaimed Emerald City Theatre remount explores the challenges of giving selflessly through humor and holiday joy as fan-favorite Junie B. Jones journeys through a Columbus Day school play, a holiday sing-along concert, and Secret Santa Day. "Dear Santa, I really hope you were watching me just now. That's all I hope. Love, Junie B. - Giver."

About ECT Artistic Director Jacqueline Stone: Stone previously served as ECT's Education Director for ten years and has directed multiple productions, including the company's original production of Junie B. Jones in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells in 2012. Along with her role as Artistic Director for Emerald City Theatre, she will continue to serve as Artistic Director for TUTA Theatre Chicago, where she is a co-founder and has acted or directed in over 16 productions. For the past 20 years she has acted, directed, and taught across the United States including Chicago Dramatists, The Second City, and Columbia College Chicago. Stone is a co-founder of Sirens, the longest running all-female performance group in the country and with them has created and performed in over 300 original shows.
