Drury Lane Oakbrook, 100 Drury Lane, Oakbrook Terrace, IL, presents the winner of 2002's "Best Musical" Tony Award THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, directed by Artistic Director William Osetek.  THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE previews October 22, opens October 29 and runs through December 20. Holly Ann Butler will star as "Millie", who recently finished the first National Tour of JERSEY BOYS as "Lorraine".

The delightful, Jazz Age musical THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, tells the humorous story of a young girl from Kansas who takes New York City by storm as she flaps, taps and Charleston's her way into the Roaring '20s.  Millie experiences the hustle and bustle of Jazz Age Manhattan, at a time when women were just entering the workforce and rewriting society's rules.
A funny, romantic story about following dreams and falling in love, THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE was hailed as "a thoroughly delightful experience" by USA Today.  A singing, dancing tribute to the spirit of New York City, THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE is a feel-good story featuring a score including "Jimmy", "Gimme, Gimme", "I Turned the Corner", "Only In New York", and "Long As I'm Here with You."

The original production of the comic pastiche, directed by Michael Mayer, underwent several workshops in New York and performances at the La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego, California, before ultimately opening on Broadway on April 15, 2002. The production subsequently won six 2002 Tony Awards. Due to the success of the original Broadway production, there were both a United States tour and a West End production launched in 2003, followed by a United Kingdom tour in 2005.
