Dominican University Presents Mary Chapin Carpenter Concert, 10/15
By: Carly Rosemore
Don't miss five-time Grammy-winner Mary Chapin Carpenter October 15 at DUPAC!
By combining folk, country, acoustic, rock and blues, Carpenter has proven herself to be an artist for whom the conventional boundaries of the music business disappear; she has always professed a love for all kinds of music, and those influences come together in songs that speak to the most personal of life's details as well as to the most universal.
Also an artist who participates in the creation of a more just and humane world, Carpenter was honored with the Americana Music Association's "Spirit of Americana" Free Speech In Music Award, co-presented by the First Amendment Center. The award honors artists who have promoted free speech through music and other efforts, and past recipients include Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Joan Baez, Mavis Staples, Judy Collins, Charlie Daniels and Steve Earle.Lund Auditorium
