By:

Discover the thrilling creative output from many infrequently heard works of musical theater at the cabaret evening Nobody's Side: Broadway's Cult Classics, performed at Davenport's Piano Bar & Cabaret from March 14 - 28, 2011. Reservations can be placed at www.davenportspianobar.com.

For 3 nights only, the songs of Broadway's most infamous cult classics will come alive with some of the best musical theater talent in Chicago! The singers include Sean Effinger-Dean, Broadway veteran Katherine L. Condit, and Jeff winners Ryan Lanning & Elizabeth Lanza. Hear numbers from Anyone Can Whistle, Merrily We Roll Along, Flora the Red Menace, Rags, Mack & Mabel, Taboo, Chess, Carrie and many more! The musical numbers will be complemented with behind-the-scenes anecdotes from host and director Christopher Pazdernik. Nobody's Side is a rare opportunity to encounter some of the best Broadway music you may never have heard before!

Katherine L. Condit returns to Davenport's after appearing in the hit cabaret The Distance You Have Come: The Songs of Scott Alan. She was recently seen as Mrs. Mullin in Carousel at Light Opera Works and as Arlene in Baby at Actors Theatre Company. She was in the original Broadway cast of Chess and looks forward to singing 'Nobody's Side' once again.

Sean Effinger-Dean was recently seen around Chicago in The Music Man at Marriott Lincolnshire, The Fantasticks at Porchlight, Plaid Tidings at Noble Fool, Pump Boys and Dinettes at Drury Lane, and Willy Wonka at Chicago Shakespeare Theater. He will be appearing in Porchlight's upcoming Midwest Premiere of the new musical Meet John Doe.

Ryan Lanning returns to Davenport's after the successful run of It's an Art: The Songs of Stephen Schwartz last spring. In the past year, Ryan has appeared in critically acclaimed productions with Bailiwick Chicago (F**cking Men), Goodman Theatre (Candide) and The Scooty & Jojo Show (Alien Queen). At Bailiwick Repertory, he received a Jeff Award as Molina in Kiss of the Spider Woman.

Elizabeth Lanza won a Jeff Award for her performance as Pistache in Can-Can at Circle Theatre. Recently, she has also been seen as Kathy in Company with Griffin Theatre and Carrie in Carousel with Light Opera Works. She is also currently in the Midwest Premiere of Meet John Doe at Porchlight Music Theatre.

Nobody's Side reunites the artistic team of host and director Christopher Pazdernik and music director Aaron Benham, who created the extended-run production of It's an Art: The Songs of Stephen Schwartz at Davenport's. Christopher also conceived and directed The Distance You Have Come: The Songs of Scott Alan at Davenport's, and is an Artistic Associate at both Porchlight Music Theatre and Bailiwick Chicago. Aaron also music directed Promethean's The Fantasticks, and is a member of the Chicago Gay Men's Chorus.

Nobody's Side: Broadway's Cult Classics runs March 14, 21 & 28, 2011 at Davenport's Piano Bar & Cabaret, 1383 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago. Showtimes are Mondays at 8 PM. Tickets are available by calling 773-278-1830 or by visiting www.davenportspianobar.com. Tickets are $15 with a 2 drink minimum.
