DIRTY DANCING in Chicago Breaks $1M Box Office Mark

Producers Jacobsen Entertainment in association with Lionsgate and Magic Hour Productions announced that Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story On Stage has joined the Millionaire’s Club with box office receipts totaling $1,095,062 for 8 performances for the week ending October 26, 2008.
Dirty Dancing began previews on September 28, 2008 and opened Sunday, October 19, 2008 at Chicago’s Cadillac Palace Theatre and immediately announced the hit show will extend the Chicago engagement through January 17, 2009. Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story On Stage is a coming of age love story involving the talented and headstrong dancer Johnny Castle (Josef Brown) and Frances “Baby” Houseman (Amanda Leigh Cobb). During her family’s summer vacation at the popular Kellerman’s resort, Baby, a doctor’s daughter with dreams of joining the Peace Corps, meets Johnny, the guy from the wrong side of the tracks. Against all odds, they fall in love, learning life-changing lessons along the way.
