Chicago to Welcome Amy & Freddy's Big Time Show

By:

This July, Theatre Building Chicago (1225 W. Belmont Ave.) will welcome Chicago's acclaimed musical and comedy "dynamic duo" Amy Armstrong and Freddy Allenas as they take the mainstage for one-weekend only in their summer revue: Amy & Freddy's Big Time Show.

"Add some sweet relief to a scorching Chicago summer with vocalist and diva-extraordinaire Amy Armstrong accompanied by the highly talented Freddy Allen at the piano.  Following a successful international touring showcase, Big Time Show makes its Chicago debut and features an eclectic mix of classic and popular favorites sure to add some cool vibes to a sizzling Windy City summer," state press materials.

"Known as one of the most popular cabaret acts both here in Chicago and on the international stage, Amy & Freddy with their high-powered combination of music and comedy will take a weekend off from their busy touring schedule to return home, taking one step closer to the 'big time', during this limited one weekend engagement."

Chicago-based Amy Armstrong and Freddy Allen have been captivating audiences for over ten years and have performed in cities coast to coast, including Los Angeles, New York, St. Louis, Key West, San Francisco, St. Paul, Seattle, Detroit, Saugatuck, Provincetown, Denver, Puerto Vallarta, Ft. Lauderdale, Grand Rapids and Chicago.  In 1998, their travels took them to Denmark where they were the featured artists at Copenhagen's New Year's Concert.  They have been the opening act for several familiar names including Mary Wilson and the Supremes, Phyllis Diller, Bea Arthur, Jennifer Holiday, Judy Tenuta, Lois Bromfeld, and Judy Gold.  For over six years, they have been considered as one of the most popular cabaret acts for RSVP Cruise Lines.  RSVP has hired Amy and Freddy as their 2006 & 2007 "Entertainment Ambassadors."

Tickets range in price from $20 - $30 and are available by calling the Theatre Building Chicago Box Office at (773) 327-5252, and through Ticketmaster by calling (312) 902-1500 or logging onto ticketmaster.com.  Group and student discounts are available.
