Chicago Kicks off Holiday Season with Tree Lighting at NEWCITY This Weekend

One of the first holiday events to take part in Chicago this season, NEWCITY, 1457 N. Halsted, a lifestyle destination and urban oasis for one-of-a-kind entertainment, eclectic dining and luxury shopping, will host their second annual Tree Lighting Ceremony Saturday, November 11 from 6- 8p.m. To kick off the free event, Alderman Burnett will ceremoniously flip a giant light switch to turn on the 30 ft. tree and officially kick off winter wonderland at NEWCITY. In addition, families and children will be able to tell their holiday wishes to and take photos with Santa and Buddy the Elf, The International British School Choir and the Chicago Chamber Choir will perform, and a trackless train, balloon artist, cookies and hot chocolate, and other activities will be available.

"The holiday season is all about family and friends coming together to be thankful and celebrating each other and the year ahead.
