Chicago Dramatists Present FRESHLY FALLEN SNOW, 9/20-10/28
In Freshly Fallen Snow by M.E.H. Lewis, Dr. Jane Smith pioneers a controversial new treatment for traumatic memory disorders, a procedure that will "edit" memories. Her reluctant first patient is AJ, a terribly scarred female veteran of the Iraq War. The driving force behind the doctor's ambitions and the person she most wants to heal is her own mother, a haunted survivor of World War II's Dresden firestorm. For both the mother and AJ, the real sources of their pain are lies and truths, long buried in their memories.
Inspired by actual scientific research, Freshly Fallen Snow is an exploration of the memories that shape us, the stories we tell the world, and the dark space that lies between the two.The show will play Chicago Dramatists, Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m, September 20-October 28, 2012. The venue is located at 1105 W. Chicago Avenue, Chicago, Ill. Ticket Price Range: $15-$32. Call 312-633-0630 or visit chicagodramatists.org for tickets and more information.
