Chicago Cultural Center Hosts THE MUSIC NEVER ENDS July 24

A star-studded group of Chicago's best Jazz and Cabaret musicians will honor the life of legendary Jazz pianist Joe Vito at the Chicago Cultural Center's Preston Bradley Hall on Sunday, July 24, 2011, at 2 p.m. Admission is FREE.

The program will feature such musical luminaries as Jim Widlowski, Ken Haebich, Audrey Morris, Laury Shelley, Sean Harris, Frank Caruso, Frank Winkler, Frank D'Rone, Mark Madsen, Larry Novak, Bob Sutter, KT McCammond and Carole Loverde. It will be moderated by Vince Gerasole. Rich Daniels, Musical Director of The City Lights Orchestra will serve as musical advisor for the program.

Chicago Jazz legend Joe Vito passed away last year. A native of the City, Joe made headlines around the world with his piano and accordion stylings with such performers as Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Andy Williams, Doc Severinsen and Julie Andrews. His musical skills graced the stages of some of Chicago's most-respected institutions, including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Chicago Opera Theater. His contribution to Jazz and the Chicago music scene will last long beyond his life.

Public programs, exhibitions, and related educational programming presented at the Chicago Cultural Center by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events in partnership with the Chicago Office of Tourism and Culture are partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency. Transportation support is provided by United Airlines, The Official Airline of the Chicago Cultural Center. Lawry's The Prime Rib is the restaurant sponsor of Chicago Cultural Center exhibitions. Chicago Cultural Center concert pianos are generously provided by Steinway of Chicago.
