Chicago Children's Theatre Receives $200,000 Invest For Kids Award ImageChicago Children's Theatre is proud to have been honored with a 2018 Invest For Kids Award at the 10th Anniversary Invest For Kids Conference on October 24 at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance.

The award comes with a $200,000 donation to support Chicago's largest professional theater company devoted exclusively to children and young families.

"Chicago Children's Theatre is so grateful for this award which recognizes both our commitment to theatrical programming of the highest standards, and to access for Chicago's most marginalized populations including low-income families and youth with special needs," said Chicago Children's Theatre Co-Founder and Artistic Director Jacqueline Russell.

"Invest For Kids is doing wonderful work, creating a legacy of supporting non-profits providing services to thousands of the city's most underprivileged children. We are proud to advance this cause through exposing even more youth to the benefits of live theatre and arts education."

Invest For Kids was co-founded by Ron Levin and Ben Kovler in 2009 with the goal of bringing the Chicago investment community together annually to provide support for not-for-profit organizations serving underserved children in the city. This year's Invest For Kids Conference, widely considered one of Chicago's premier investment events, drew more than 1,000 people and raised a record $1.7 million to support local youth advocacy organizations.

Invest For Kids' charitable approach is to target organizations where the gift can have the highest impact, having a material influence on the number of children served and endorsing beneficiaries to enable them to attract additional support. In its first nine years, proceeds from the Invest For Kids conference have supported 53 organizations with donations that are often the largest single gift these organizations have received.

Other Chicago organizations serving underserved youth populations in Chicago that received 2018 Invest for Arts Awards are Emerge, Epic Academy, Legacy, Project SYNCERE and Tutoring Chicago.
