With over 100 Comedy Festivals through out the country, talented groups are bound to be rejected from one or more of them. That's where Chemically Imbalanced Comedy's Snubfest Comedy Festival comes in. Snubfest showcases groups from around the country (and for the first time, Canada!) that have been "snubbed" from other festivals.
Snubfest 2008 participants have been rejected from:
Orlando Fringe Festival Chicago Improv Festival Boston Comedy Festival Chicago SketchFest DC Comedy Festival Sketchfest NYC San Francisco Sketchfest Just For Laughs Comedy Festival New Orleans Improv Festival Del Close Marathon
Prizes include admission to prestigious comedy festivals, including the Phoenix Improv Festival, the Toronto Improv Festival, Dirty South Improv Festival, the Twin Cities Improv Festival, Sacramento All Sketch Festival, New York Underground Comedy Festival, a paid spot in a Mikey O show in Chicago, and The Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival.
This year's Snubfest Comedy Festival is sponsored by New Media Comedy, Rooftop Comedy, and Myspace Comedy; which promises to open even more doors and exposure for our participants.
Snubfest will again be joined by Steve Heisler (Comedy Editor, TimeOut Chicago Magazine,) Bert Haas (Talent Booker, Zanies Comedy Club,) Rick Lura (Comedy Booker The Improv Comedy Club) and Ryan Hubbard (Comedy Editor, Chicago Reader.) Judges for the "Last Snob Standing" contest include talent scouts from the Toronto Improv Festival and Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival.
Additional Sponsors of Snubfest include Mikey O Productions and the official after-party sponsor, Joe's on Weed Street.
