Barrel Of Monkeys' Announces FANCY SCHMANCY: We Could Be Heroes

Celebrate your favorite heroes - super and otherwise - at Barrel of Monkeys' annual fundraising soirée Fancy Schmancy: We Could Be Heroes on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at The Drucker Center, 1535 N. Dayton Ave. in Chicago. Come dressed as YOUR favorite hero for an evening of delicious hors d'oeuvres from Entertaining Company, complimentary beer, wine and cocktails, a photo booth, live performances, music by DJ Debonair Status and dancing. The party also features a silent auction with dozens of great gift packages and a raffle for tickets to Hamilton in Chicago and Saturday Night Live in New York.

Tickets for Fancy Schmancy: We Could Be Heroes are currently available at www.barrelofmonkeys.org/fancy with early bird discounts available through Friday, March 9. Online access to silent auction items is also available, using GiveSmart auction technology. All proceeds support arts education programming in Chicago elementary schools.

Barrel of Monkeys, a Chicago-based arts education theater ensemble now in its 21st season, conducts creative writing workshops with 2nd through 7th grade students in underserved Chicago Public Schools and in its own after-school program. The ensemble of actor-educators then turns their stories and poems into professionally performed theater, presented both in-school and for the general public through its revues. Barrel of Monkeys annually performs more than 300 stories for the students in their schools and 175 stories on the stage for the general public.
