24WORDS is a vibrant and inspiring musical with a diverse cast of nine taking on dozens of characters in a dramatic retelling of American history - beginning with the Revolutionary War and Continental Convention -- when men declared "all men created equal" - to the historic events of March 22, 1972 when women were almost equal, pot was almost legal, and "contraceptives could be sold to unmarried people."

"Our story is about how we all share in this revolutionary journey for equal rights and equal justice - and what it means to be denied equality under the law," says Charles Kouri, who wrote the script and the lyrics. "Musically, we explore how various styles of music - classical, swing, tango, folk, rockabilly, pop and glam - have shaped our view of equality and inspired generations to take up the cause."

Margaret Baughman, directing her first Chicago production, joins veteran Lavina Jadhwani, on this exciting project. Baughman comments: "To remember and honor those that have fought battles so alike those we continue to fight for Equal Rights for all people. At this moment in time, there is so much to learn from the way people worked together throughout history to protect those that were similar and dissimilar to themselves."

The cast includes Taylor Anapol, Dana Anderson, Elisa Carlson, Luis David Cortes, Jordan Golding, Khloe Janel, Kenyai O'Neal, Noreen Patel, Janelle Villas, and Missy Wise.

The production team includes Charles Kouri and Elisa Carlson (Producers). Margaret Baughman and Lavina Jadhwani (Directors), Elisa Carlson and Shanae Sterba (Choreographers), Dan Friedman (Lighting Designer), Hannah Kaplan (Stage Manager), Gary Bragg (Composer), and Charles Kouri (Writer and Lyricist).
