Anaphora Performs Season Finale at Nichols Hall Tonight, 6/15

By:

Collaboratively-run Anaphora, a local leader in innovative programming, continues to present diverse concerts with their Season Finale in only one performance at Nichols Hall, 1490 Chicago Ave, Evanston, tonight, June 15, at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for Season Finale start at only $10 in advance. To purchase tickets, please visit www.anaphoraensemble.com and click on the “Where Is Anaphora” tab. For assistance, contact anaphora.org@gmail.com.

The concert program offers works by Augusta Read Thomas, Gustav Mahler, Igor Stravinsky, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and explores an eclectic range of repertoire, which is highly representative of Anaphora’s core values. This concert is not to be missed.

Featured performers include pianist George Lepauw (International Beethoven Project and Beethoven Festival founder), cellist Craig Trompeter (general director of the Haymarket Opera Company), accomplished violist Dave Moss, violinist Sang Mee Lee (Music Institute of Chicago faculty member), violinist Aurelien Pederzoli (founder of both Anaphora and Spektral Quartet), and clarinetist Cory Tiffin (Principal Clarinet for Las Vegas Philharmonic and founder of Anaphora).

Having met while attending DePaul University, Anaphora co-founders Pederzoli and Tiffin have performed together since 2004. The pair toured Europe and North America with a pianist as the "Carma Trio" from 2005-2007. In 2008, Pederzoli and Tiffin collaborated with composer Sarah J. Ritch and entertainment publicist Lisa S. Dell to organize a retrospective concert of Ritch’s music. The united vision amongst the four produced an artistic experience that inspired the quartet to pursue an entire season of concerts under the name “Anaphora.” Programmed works span from Baroque to performance art and everything in between.

Anaphora is a network of local musicians and arts enthusiasts collaborating to elevate Chicago’s classical music scene. For more information on Season Finale or Anaphora, please visit www.anaphoraensemble.com.
