ARTicuLIT to Present OUT OF OUR FATHERS' HOUSE, Plus High Tea, 10/24
ARTicuLIT Readers Theatre presents an afternoon of TEA AND THEATRE on Friday, October 24, at High Tea With Gerri, 144 Old McHenry Road, in Long Grove.
The 4-course high tea will be served at 1 p.m., followed by a performance of OUT OF OUR FATHERS' HOUSE at 2 p.m. Cost: $45. Reservations are required and may be obtained by calling 847-948-1724.
The program consists of readings from the diaries and journals of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, founder of the Women's Suffrage, portrayed by Ellie Meyers of Deerfield; Mother Mary Jones, a labor organizer, portrayed by Mollie Grabemann of Deerfield; Dr. Anna Howard Shaw, a doctor/minister/orator played by June Fisher of Deerfield; Elizabeth Gertrude Stern, a journalist/novelist/early feminist portrayed by Donna Lubow of Riverwoods; and Eliza Southgate, a young housewife in the 1800's, portrayed by Janet Reed of Highland Park.
