A&A BALLET to Hold Auditions for World Premiere of Alexei Kremnev's THE NUTCRACKER

Auditions for Kremnev's world-premiere production of The Nutcracker will be held on Saturday, Sep. 9, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at The School of Performing Arts, 1112 S. Washington St., Naperville, Ill, and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the American Rhythm Center, 410 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago.

A&A BALLET welcomes dancers from ages 4 through 21 to audition for ensemble roles in this highly-anticipated production, which will be staged at Chicago's historic Studebaker Theater, Dec. 1 - 3, 2017, with an additional performance in the western suburbs to be announced.

Set in 1920s America, Kremnev's Nutcracker is reported to be a fresh, albeit more traditional take on the beloved holiday staple than other recent incarnations. Reflective of a choreographic style The Huffington Post has heralded as "electric" and "echoing with audiences of all ages," Kremnev says audiences can expect a joyous celebration, filled with fast-paced action, eye-popping colors, and a dash of humor.

The Nutcracker is Kremnev's eighth full-length ballet. His work has received far-reaching accolades and been presented at the world-renowned Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, Lincoln Center in New York, and the Opernhaus Zurich in Switzerland, among other prestigious venues across the globe.
