7 Secrets of Highly Effective Chicks! at Village Players

Village Players Performing Arts Center presents
The Sparkle Sisters:
7 Secrets of Highly Effective Chicks

In just one night, learn the Sparkle Sisters secrets to keeping their curves! From Sondheim to Berlin, this hilarious musical evening will inspire you to find your own inner sparkle through a cabaret revue of story songs.  7 Secrets of Highly Effective Chicks will make audiences laugh, cry and go home happy.

The Sparkle Sisters, Carol Moss and Monica McCarthy, began performing together in 2003. They came together out of a mutual love of singing/performing and the desire to inspire people to live life from a perspective of love, not fear. They sold out the Wilmette Theater (in a snow storm!) last January.  At Davenport's Cabaret in Chicago, they've performed "P.S. I Love You, from the Sparkle Sisters," and "Winter Sparkle Land, Tales of Glug and Whiskey," to sold out houses. They also regularly perform for private parties, libraries and benefits. They released their first CD, "P.S. I Love You," in November 2004.

Carol Moss has appeared in over 100 commercials and 300 industrial films as well as in television and feature films. In Boston she sang at Faneuil Hall and in Philadelphia at numerous cabaret clubs, private parties and with Young Audiences, introducing opera to school children. In Chicago she has sung at the Royal George, Bailiwick Theater and Davenport's Piano Bar.

Monica McCarthy has sung her favorites from Cole Porter in such famous Chicago nightclubs as Boombala, and on the road in Las Vegas, Orlando and Annaheim. She has performed various roles in many of Chicago's theaters including Drury Lane, Wisdom Bridge, Center Theater, Apple Tree Theater, Pegasus Players and The Royal George. She has inspired a generation of theater students at Apple Tree, Center Theater, and now at The Music Institute of Chicago.

The Sparkle Sisters: 7 Secrets of Highly Effective Chicks performs November 22, 2008.  Show time is 8 PM. Tickets are $25/Adults and $20/Students & Seniors.

Presented in the Mainstage Theater of the newly renovated Village Players Performing Arts Center located at 1010 Madison St., Oak Park. Plenty of parking is available on the street.
