Short Story Theatre presents an evening of warm, wise and wonderful true stories on Thursday, April 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Miramar Bistro, 301 Waukegan Ave. in Highwood. Tickets are $10 at the door. In her story "The SAT and Me" ElizaBeth Brown of Lake Forest wonders what will happen when she, a middle-aged woman, retakes the SAT test to see if she can improve her high school score.

Highland Park resident, Lou Greenwald, is awakened in the middle of the night when his daughter asks him to finish her AP History paper. His story: "2AM."
Rino Liberatore of Wilmette shares his story "A Game of Inches," in which he recalls his experiences as a young man with interests in both art & football and finds that sometimes the ball doesn't bounce his way.
Dr. Nutan Vaidya of Riverwoods tries to teach a lesson to her resident doctor but learns one instead in "Some Boundaries Are Meant to be Crossed."
Short Story Theatre was founded in 2012 and is dedicated to promoting storytelling as a vibrant, contemporary art form. Co-founder Donna Lubow says, "Stories are creative non-fiction, based on personal experiences. Our troupe of more than twenty members from Chicago and the northern suburbs melds writing skills and performance skills to entertain and inspire audiences."

ElizaBeth Brown is a pathologist who has recently turned her attention to the infinitely more lively field of creative nonfiction. Her essays range from memoirs to curiosity-driven explorations of whatever catches her fancy, including a discussion of what it was like to retake the SAT exams after a 45-year hiatus. Her essays are all posted on her blog site www.fanagrams.net, and podcasts can be found on iTunes filed under "fanagrams." Other interests include racquet sports and birdwatching.
Beth Goldberg has worked with Theatre in the Woods, Oil Lamp Theater, North Shore Theater of Wilmette, and Deerfield Family Theater playing various roles, in various productions, and has thoroughly enjoyed pursuing the "acting bug" she's always had.
Lou Greenwald, a husband, brother, father and grandfather, has attended numerous storytelling festivals and has seen many of the country's greatest tellers. He hopes he has learned something about telling stories along the way.
Rino Liberatore began a career in advertising in 1982. He received local and national acclaim for his creativity for such clients as Chevrolet, the Chicago Cubs, Loop Radio, the Illinois Lottery, and WGN-TV. Rino formed his own film Production Company in Chicago in 1995 and directed numerous projects with the most celebrated athletes of our time including Michael Jordan, and the 1985 Super Bowl Chicago Bears, Harry Caray and many others. Rino has produced short films and co-directed an Independent Feature titled "The Opera Lover." The film aired on Showtime. A Chicago native, Rino is currently working on a feature length Documentary "Iron Five" chronicling the 1963 Loyola Rambler College Basketball Team.
Nutan Vaidya, as a lifelong academician and administrator, has spent a considerable amount of time recognizing and cultivating talents of resident and faculty members and helping enhance their teaching and academic skills. A distinguished fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, she is certified in the subspecialty of Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatric education. Dr. Vaidya is the co-author of two textbooks: Descriptive Psychopathology and Psychiatry Rounds and has authored several peer-reviewed articles.
