Based on the life of Afrikaaner "Visionary Artist," Helen Martins, Road To Mecca is
a inspiration-drama centered on the reclusive widow, "Miss Helen." Amid a harsh, oppressive South African landscape, Miss Helen incessantly creates. Using glass, mirrors, candles and sculpture, she follows her artist vision and transforms her home from darkness into the light of her own personal Mecca. Against efforts to put her into a retirement home, Miss Helen must summon the strength and courage to defend her freedom, her work and her Mecca.
