Theatre Charlotte Presents a one day acting workshop for preteens, teens and adults, Saturday, May 1 from 12-4 pm. Taught by audition coach and Director, Helen Kearney Konen, the workshop will feature lessons on script interpretation, as well as characterization for scenes and commercials. 

Helen was trained in Method Acting by one of Lee Strasberg's actors in the original Actor's Studio in NYC, Mathias Reitz. Reitz studied with legendary actress Anne Bancroft under Strasberg. Helen has a B.A. in Theatre Arts from California State University Long Beach, whose graduates include Steve Martin, Steven Spielberg and the Carpenters. Helen sang with the Carpenters in Concert Choir at Cal State and was honored to perform solo with them once. She has acted, directed and coached for over thirty years. Her actors have won numerous awards in competitions in the southeast and act in feature and independent films, commercials, TV and stage productions. She teaches classes and workshops for children, teens and adults at Theatre Charlotte and Myers Park Baptist Church. She is a comedy sketch writer and a film and commercial audition coach.
